Another prolific science fiction writer, Frank Belknap LongΓÇÖs career stretched from 1924 into the 1980ΓÇÖs. Like Stanton Coblentz, Long (b. 1903) began his writing career in poetry. His penchant for the weird fantasy appeared early with the publication of ΓÇ£The Desert LichΓÇ¥ and ΓÇ£Death WatersΓÇ¥ in his 1924 collection of aptly titled Weird Tales.
